Horse training is a tough business. Just to show you how things aren't always perfect or smooth...here's a video clip for ya.
This is Corky and I today. Corky has mastered a lot of her basics, but the canter transition seems to be the sticky point. It's not that she can't do it, it's that ocasionally (more than 50% of the time!) she chooses not to do it. Once you convince her that cantering off is in her best interest, she does it and is fine.

Don't worry, it only left a small bruise. But look how beautiful she looks once she finally canters off!
