Goalsetting
It's that time of the year - Goal time!
Mainly I think about my horse show goals. All other personal goals are usually wored as 'New Year's Resolutions' and written down on January 1st. Now that it is March, I have a better handle on what my horses might have in store for me this coming season.
One of my elusive goals is that open Register Of Merit that I am trying to earn with Taylor. That's proven to be very elusive. We earned our Amateur Hunter Under Saddle ROM last year, and are only a half point away from Amateur Showmanship ROM. My goal a few years ago was to reach 100 AQHA points with Taylor, and I checked out record last night and we did achieve that this past year...YIPPEE! I wish I had kept better track - I would have celebrated when that 100th point was earned.
With Corky, I have huge goals. NSBA Breeder's Championship and World Show, along with Congress. I think the hardest thing about those goals is earning enough money to actually attempt them! I am looking forward to this year - Corky is 3 and this is the year that wil really set her up for success (or failure, but don't wanna think about that!).
Corky begins step one towards my goals. As I type this she is on her way to Tennessee to hang out at a 4 day show down there...learn how to handle the commotion and the crowds.
Spring is coming, I can feel it! Not in the air - since it is only about 25 degrees outside. But I can feel it in the energy of the earth...the earth is revving up for a new season.
