One year old

Woo-hoo, look at that trot! Taylor is one year and 2 weeks old in these photos. She stands around 15'1".

Taylor loves to run in the paddock. I started working with her on the longe line little by little throughout the spring. She was very easy to teach, because she really tries hard and wants to please me. She took to it very quickly, and learned her cues right away. Because of her natural ability, she only needed practice on the longe line one to two times a week for only about ten minutes at a time. This was a fun time for us as she learned all sorts of new lessons (such as loading in a trailer, leading and backing around obstacles, etc.).

She's definitely a Hunter Under Saddle horse in the making! Throughout the summer I showed her locally in some longe line classes. She ended up high-point yearling longe line in OWHA.

In September I showed Taylor in yearling longe line at the Ohio Futurity. There were over 50 exhibitors in the class, and only 2 of us were showing English prospects! Taylor ended up placing 11th overall. She showed me how much patience she possessed...we stood in the Coliseum for over 2 hours before it was our turn to go (we went near the end of the class).
